Terms and Conditions

The general Conditions of Carriage of Austrian Airlines Group  apply. The following additional provisions apply, and take precedence in the event of inconsistencies with the General Conditions of Carriage.

In addition the following provisions shall apply which, if in conflict with the General Terms & Conditions of Carriage, shall take precedence over them:

Travel documents

Ticketless travel is possible on Austrian myHoliday flights (flight numbers OS 2000 to OS 2999, OS 4000 to OS 4199 and OS 9000 to OS 9999). This means that no flight coupons or booking confirmations need to be handed in at the departure gate.

On booking, the passenger receives a booking confirmation (represents the valid travel document) by e-mail and an invoice in a separate e-mail.

On showing a valid personal ID document and the booking confirmation (travel document) at check-in, the passenger receives the boarding card for the flight booked.

Carriage without a valid document will not be accepted.

All passengers are responsible themselves for compliance with all regulations important to their travel (e.g. booking confirmation, passport, visa and health regulations, also for pets being carried) and for the completeness of their travel documents. In the event of non-compliance, Austrian myHoliday shall be entitled to deny carriage and to charge the passenger for all costs and adverse consequences as a result.


Fares/discounts

The airfares are quoted and charged in EUR per flight segment including taxes and charges.

In addition, the following discounts on the applicable fare (including taxes and charges) will be granted on all Austrian myHoliday flights (except special offers explicitly identified as such):

- Infants under 2 years of age receive 90% discount on the applicable fare (including taxes and charges)

- Children between 2 and 10 years of age receive 20% discount on the applicable fare (including taxes and charges)

If the discounted fare is lower than the total of taxes and charges, the fare amounts to at least EUR 1.00 plus taxes and charges.

Definitive to the calculation of the child and/or infant discount is the age at the time of departure per flight segment. For example, if an infant reaches his or her second birthday during the trip, the infant discount will be calculated for the outward flight and the child discount for the return flight.  

Austrian myHoliday reserves the right to check age. In the event of deviations, the applicable fare (incl. taxes and charges) will be back-charged. Infants under 2 years of age have no right to a seat. At most one infant may be carried per adult.

Price campaigns are valid exclusively on new bookings during the promotion period.  In case of rebooking after the promotion period the price campaign loses its validity.     

Rebooking

A rebooking is deemed given if, with seat capacities still free, the flight date before departure is changed at the request of the passenger.

Should the passenger request to change the destination, a departure and/or return airport the below mentioned cancellation fees accrue per passenger and per route. The new flight/flights has/have to be paid at the current fare.

Rebooking can only be done in writing (charter.myholiday@austrian.com ) two hours before departure at most .

Rebooking from originally booked departures at higher fares to departures with lower fares is possible only at the original fare (incl. taxes and charges). Upon rebooking, the difference from the new, possibly higher, fare (incl. taxes and charges) must be paid. In any event, however, charges of €30 per passenger and flight segment will be incurred.

The rebooking charges are as follows:

-        for adults and children EUR 30.00 per passenger and flight segment

-        no rebooking charge is charged for infants (under 2 years)

Rebooking charges will not be refunded in the event of cancellations.

No refunds will be paid for segments not used.

Payment of the charges for rebooking is possible only via the permitted modes of payment. No discount will be granted on the rebooking charge.

Changes of name

A change of name is deemed given if the name of one or more travel participants is changed before the first departure at the passenger’s request.

Changes of name can only be made in writing (charter.myholiday@austrian.com ).

The charges for changes of name are as follows:

-        for adults, children and infants (unter 2 years) EUR 30.00 per passenger and change

Charges for changes of name will not be refunded in the event of cancellations.

No refunds will be paid for segments not used.

Payment of the charges for a change of passenger name is possible only via the permitted modes of payment. No discount will be granted on the charges for changes of name.

Withdrawal by passenger/cancellations

We must be informed of the cancellation of the booked flight in writing before starting travel giving the booking number.

For flight cancellations, Austrian myHoliday is entitled to charge the following amounts per passenger for adults, children and infants per flight segment, but at least €30.00, without further evidence:                                                             (infants pay no minimum amount)

25% of the fare (incl. taxes and charges)

from 19th to 10th day before travelling

50% of the fare (incl. taxes and charges)

from 9th to 4th day before travelling

65% of the fare (incl. taxes and charges)

from 3rd to 2nd day before travelling

85% of the fare (incl. taxes and charges)

1 day prior to departure

100% of the fare (incl. taxes and charges)


For children/infants, the cancellation charge will be calculated based on the discounted fare (incl. taxes and charges). No refunds will be paid for segments not used.

There is no additional child/infant discount on cancellation charges.

Payment of the charges for cancellation is possible only via the permitted modes of payment.                                             No discount will be granted on the cancellation charge.

Reservation charges for confirmed additional services, such as carriage of pets or sports equipment, are not refundable.

Under Austrian law the passenger is free to demonstrate to us that we have suffered no, or a significantly lower, loss that the flat rate we charge. This ruling also applies if the passenger does not reach the flight at the time indicated or is denied boarding due to incomplete travel documents.

We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance (see Link European Travel Insurance).

Hand baggage dimensions

The maximum size and maximum weight for baggage not checked in are: 55 x 40 x 23 cm, 8kg. During the flight it must be stowed either beneath your seat or in a baggage compartment.

The following baggage rules apply:

Adults and children from 2 years of age:  1 bag up to max. 23 kg / up to max. 158 cm

Children under 2 years of age:                1 bag up to max. 23 kg / up to max. 158 cm and 1 folding buggy (up to 10 kg)

Seat reservations

For many of our Austrian myHoliday flights (flight numbers OS 2000 to OS 2999, OS 4000 to OS 4199 and OS 9000 to OS 9999) we offer seat reservations via the Austrian myHoliday Homepage www.austrian.com/myHoliday or by telephone in Austria under 0820 320 321 (Mon.-Fri. 08:00-19:00, Sat.-Sun. 08:00-16:30) – from abroad: +43 5 176 676 700.

Unfortunately, seat reservations are presently not possible on triangular flights, such as Vienna‑Lanzarote-Fuerteventura‑Vienna, or on selected special flights.

You can reserve your seat with us even after having booked your flight or a package holiday via a travel operator or agent!

You must show the booking confirmation for your seat at check-in.

Prices and terms & conditions for seat reservations

Seats can be reserved up to 2 days prior to departure (Example: If your departure is on a Wednesday, the booking must take place by midnight on Sunday) against a charge via the Austrian myHoliday homepage www.austrian.com/myHoliday or by phone in Austria under 0820 320 321 / from abroad: +43 5 176 676 700 (Mon.-Fri. 08:00-19:00, Sat.-Sun. 08:00-16:30). The amount of the charge depends on the seat category as follows:

NB: What seats are available for reservation depends on the aircraft type.

Billing takes place via a valid credit card.

Reservations free of charge are possible for

- Families with infants under 2 years of age and for all accompanying children between 2 and 12 years of age and two accompanying adults in the same booking. These seats can be reserved directly via www.austrian.com/myHoliday or by telephone in Austria under 0820 320 321 / from abroad: +43 5 176 676 700 (Mon.-Fri. 08:00-19:00, Sat.-Sun. 08:00-16:30).

- Persons with restricted mobility or impaired sensory perception and unaccompanied minors. For that purpose please contact services.myholiday@austrian.com by email only and give the passenger name(s)/flight number(s), date and booking number.

A ticket at the child fare must be paid for when using a child car seat to secure an infant under 2 years of age on a separate seat. The seat reservation is free of charge. Please contact our Call Center under 0820 320 321 (Austria) / from abroad: +43 5 176 676 700 (Mon.-Fri. 08:00-19:00, Sat.-Sun. 08:00-16:30).

Special rules for seats at emergency exits and XL-seats:

These seats are located at the emergency exits. Because of official safety regulations, we must ensure that the person(s) booked on these seats, on commencing their journey:

- are willing and mentally and physically able to operate the emergency exit in emergency situations,

- are at least 15 years of age,

- are not carrying pets in the cabin, and

- speak German or English.

Should that not be the case, check-in personnel and cabin crew are entitled to assign the person concerned to another seat. There is no right to any refund of the reservation costs. Should it not be possible to assign an alternative seat despite exhausting all possibilities, Austrian myHoliday reserves the right to deny carriage completely.

Cancelling and changing seat reservations and/or special services

The reservation charge for your seat or special service is not refundable.

A processing charge of EUR 10.00 per passenger will be raised for rebooking. Please send your requested changes only by e-mail to services.myholiday@austrian.com giving your booking number, the flight information, the passenger names and any services already booked. For our security and traceability, rebooking can only be done in writing.

Austrian myHoliday reserves the right at any time to assign you another seat should it be necessary for flight safety reasons even after boarding the aircraft.

Should your reserved seat category not be available for operational or other non-safety-related reasons, we will refund the amount charged for your seat reservation to your credit card. In that case, please contact: services.myholiday@austrian.com by e-mail with the booking confirmation for the seat reservation and your boarding card with the seat actually assigned, or send the documents required by post to: Austrian Airlines, Austrian myHoliday, Head Office, Office Park 2, P.O. Box 100, 1300 Flughafen Wien, Austria. 



Day-ahead check-in for Austrian myHoliday flights

Vienna Central Station CAT Counter: until 23:00 (from 14:00 on the day before) – no special baggage and only possible with a valid CAT ticket

Vienna/VIE: 14:00 to 16:00 and 20:00 to 22:00 on day before

Graz/GRZ: 19:00 to 21:00 in the evening for all departures on the following day

Klagenfurt/KLU: 19:00 to 20:45 in the evening for all departures on the following day

Linz/LNZ: 20:00 to 22:00 in the evening for all departures on the following day by 12:00

Salzburg/SZG: 19:30 to 21:00 in the evening for all departures on the following day

Innsbruck/INN: Friday/Saturday/Sunday 15:00 to 17:00 during the summer schedule period

Please bear in mind that Austrian myHoliday cannot offer the option of day-ahead check-in when rebooking onto another airline.

Pursuant to Regulation (EU) No. 996/2010* we offer you the possibility on our homepage to name a contact person with name and telephone number or e-mail address, who should be notified in the event of an aviation accident. These data will be used exclusively for that purpose and will be deleted after your journey. Please bear in mind that these data are not linked to the booking – if you rebook you need to enter the data again.
